Starting 1 March 2025, new workplace harassment prevention laws will require businesses to implement Prevention Plans to manage the risks of sexual and gender based harassment. Here is a quick guide to what this means for employers and how Bramwell Partners can help you comply.

Workplace Harassment Prevention – What’s New?

Employers will be required to prepare a Prevention Plan that addresses the risks of sexual harassment or sex/gender based harassment in the workplace. The plan must:

  • Identify risks of harassment.
  • Detail control measures to address those risks.
  • Outline reporting procedures for harassment complaints.
  • Be accessible and understandable to employees.

Employer Responsibilities

Once the plan is created, employers must:

  • Implement it and ensure workers know how to access it.
  • Review the plan regularly—after a harassment report, if requested, or every 3 years.

Failure to comply can result in fines of up to 60 penalty units.
