In this final edition in of our series, we will review the additional amendments made to the Fair Work Act 2009 through the Closing Loopholes No 2. Bill implemented in 2024. Within this blog, we will be reviewing the approved changes to criminalising wage theft, regulations for labour hire arrangements, changes to small business redundancy provisions and the introduction of manslaughter offences.

In this second edition in of our series, we will review the amendments made to the Fair Work Act 2009 through the Closing Loopholes No 2. Bill implemented in 2024. These amendments include the largely debated Right to Disconnect and the new definitions for causal employment.

The Australian industrial relations landscape is currently changing after the Federal Government introduced the Fair Work Legislation Amendment (Secure Jobs, Better Pay) Act in December of 2022.
